Proper Nutrition Is Very Important for Track and Field Athletes
When Eating Healthy, Keep These Things In Mind...
- Cut down on sugar. These are children so keep that in mind, but sugar isn't good for athletes
- GET RID OF SODA and carbonated beverages! Soda is high in sugar AND it is carbonated which deprives the body of oxygen. Oxygen is critical to athlete performance
- Eat more fruits, veggies, lean protein (turkey, chicken, fish), and complex carbohydrates (whole grain rice, breads, pastas, and starchy veggies)
- Drink water to keep the body hydrated!!!!!!
